Zaf’s Cannons started the 2019 season with a hard fought 5-3 win over East Kew Panthers JFC at Jack Edwards Reserve in difficult windy conditions yesterday.
Oakleigh went into the half time break with a convincing 4-1 lead with goals to Alex, Jimmy, Theodore and an own goal to East Kew.
Their opponents however started to turn things around in the 2nd half before a beautiful cross by Lucas handed Jimmy his 2nd goal of the match to make the final score 5-3 to the Cannons, topping off a superb start to the new season.
Well done Oakleigh 👏👏👏
Zaf’s Post Match Thoughts;
Goal of the Day: ALEX - dribbled past two defenders and smashed the ball into the top corner.
Player of the Match: MIKEY - A work horse.
Following closely behind in 2nd place was CHARLIE.
“Everyone else was amazing typically which showed at end with the result going our way” said Zaf, a very pleased coach at full time.
More Pics to Come.
