After a 2-0 win v an Oakleigh Cannons U10s (Kangas) side on Tuesda, Zaf’s Cannons came up against Oakleigh Cannons U11s (Costa) side in a friendly on Sunday at Jack Edwards Reserve which was played in 4x 15 min quarters.
After no goals were scored in the 1st Quarter, Zaf's Cannons continued their attacking dominance in the 2nd quarter, going up 1-0 through midfielder Nicholas, after a nice assist by Ethan and then shortly after, doubled their lead before the half time break when winger Georgia put away a nicely taken goal, driving it into the top left corner. After half time, Oakleigh Cannons U11s (Costa) started applying more pressure on Zaf's Cannons and were rewarded with two goals of their own to make it 2-2, heading into the 3rd quarter break.
In the 4th quarter, Lucas was unlucky not to score, hitting the crossbar while goalkeeper Athan also made a couple of crucial saves at the other end to make it a 2-all full time score. Zaf's Cannons will begin their season on April 7th with opponent & venue TBD.
