Cannons Go Down 5-1 to East Kew

Zaf's Cannons suffered their 4th loss of the 2019 season with a 5-1 defeat to East Kew Panthers at Jack Edwards Reserve in Oakleigh this morning. After several attacking opportunities in the first half, the Cannons couldn't capitalize and found themselves 3-0 down at half time after East Kew took their limited chances to put the result almost beyond doubt. In the 2nd half, the home side played some better attacking football and were finally rewarded after winger Charlie put away his 6th goal of the season to make it 3-1 with still 18 minutes to play. However East Kew finished with some nice counter attacking plays to score two more goals and confine Oakleigh to yet another defeat.

Zaf's Cannons will now recharge the batteries with a bye week before coming up against Oakleigh Cannons (Costa) in the club's 3rd rivalry game of the season - Zaf's Cannons won the first two rivalry matches 4-0 & 7-2 but can they break a 4 match losing streak to make it 3 from 3? Watch this space!
